Can’t believe we missed the 55th birthday of our beloved nerd’s favorite toy, LEGO! On January 28, 1958 Godtfred Kirk Christiansen patented the LEGO brick and in doing so gave the children (and in some cases adults) of the world hours of joy building whatever their minds could imagine. But on the other hand it has also forced me make multiple trips to LEGOLAND and to spend hours in the LEGO store so maybe I should rethink birthday wishes….
Check out the cool patent documents showing exactly how LEGO bricks do their thing.
Also here’s an old German promotional video showing why LEGOs are fun for the whole family, but what I really learned is that instead of moving around to the other side of your LEGO town to place a brick you should stand on top of your LEGO structures instead. ENJOY!
