Alright as loyal readers know (thanks dad!) my nerd, Cyclops is an AFOL, which means he is a baller at the LEGO Store. As I was perusing the latest LEGO news I stumbled across an interesting story.
Here’s a little backstory, my dad is the owner of a 7-campus Montessori school, (for those NOVA nerds out there check out The Boyd School). The story that caught my eye was this, “Move Over Montessori, Lego School is Set to Open. Turns out the man behind behind LEGO, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, has decided to open his very own “Montessori” like school. The founders of the school say the curriculum will include “Collaboration, problem solving, and learning through play (with LEGO) are embedded into our learning philosophy, and we believe that a fusion of these highly acknowledge learning methods mentioned above will strengten our students’ ability to engage in life as creative, critical thinkers.”
When it opens this summer, the school will accommodate 3-to-7-year-olds; by 2015, if all goes according to plan, it will expand to include 8-to-16-year-olds.
Before you try and impersonate a 16 year old so you can play with LEGOs all day at school, be ready to pack your bags because this school is opening in the founding place of LEGO, Billund, Denmark. Somehow I think Cyclops is going to figure out a way to pull a Billy Madison and enroll at this school….guess I should start packing.

There is group that runs a camp LEGO near us. When my son is old enough he’ll go to it.

Is there an age limit? I need a few weeks of down time from my AFOL.
