Fall TV Preview 2013: Comedy Edition

It’s that time of year again readers, one of my favorite times of the year…TV is back!! Don’t get me wrong I’ve enjoyed my indulging in some guilty summer pleasures like So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway, MasterChef, Camp, Devious Maids, Mistresses, E! and Style shows and new Hulu exclusives Moone Boy and QuickDraw and of course Pretty Little Liars (PLL to those in the know) but I’m 100% ready for all of my favorite shows to start back up.

Last year I previewed shows that I was excited about or that had a little bit of a nerd flair…but I’m going to be honest this year there’s nothing new starting that I’m SUPER excited about and I want to boycott ABC due to their cancellation of Happy Endings but here are the few that have my interest slightly piqued:

-Back in the Game
Stars James Caan and Maggie Lawson as a estranged father and daughter who have have a difficult past especially when it comes to baseball. I really want to like this show, because I like both of them. I watched the trailer on Hulu and it was OK…truthfully my favorite part of the episode was the sassy British lady.

Airing on ABC: Wednesday September 25, 2013 at 8:30 or watch on Hulu now.

-Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Andy Samberg plus what looks to be a very hilarious ensemble cast. All the previews Fox has put out have made me laugh and maybe we’ll get some great guest appearances from Samberg’s former SNL cast mates.

Airing on Fox: Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 8:30.

This show has actually been pushed back to mid-season, so hopefully that doesn’t mean bad things. My parents were both in the military so maybe that’s why I’m drawn to this premise plus it has sort of a Police Academy vibe and some attractive men…could be a winner.

-The Goldbergs
Set in the 80’s + a crazy family. Watched it on Hulu and I liked it but we’ll see if it has the comedy legs to garner a following.

Airing on ABC: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 9 or watch on Hulu now.

-Trophy Wife
Divorced twice man marries a younger woman, oldest story in the book right? Maybe that’s true but I think this comedy might have a shot at making it. Three scenes in the premiere made me laugh; one involving Malin Akerman chugging a water bottle filled with vodka, one involving a pet store and hamsters and the final with a hide-a-key. You’ll have to watch to find out more.

Airing on ABC: September 24, 2013 at 9 or watch on Hulu now.

I think that’s it for the Comedy edition of the 2013 Fall TV preview. What are you looking forward to most? Have I left something off? Sound off in the comments.

AND stay tuned for our next post on the upcoming dramas.

so with Happy Endings being over does that mean that Coach can go back to New Girl?! lol…Also watched “Trophy Wife” on Hulu and found it pretty funny! Maybe they will have a Rob Lowe guest appearance as a nod to the West Wing lol

Reports are in that Coach will be back for an extended arc this season on New Girl. What does this mean for Winston? Feel like he’s going to need a win after this.

      Great idea for guest appearances!
